Our Beautiful Northwest Lodging: Rainier View Lodge and Hall Creek Cabin
are the perfect starting place for every activity, as we find ourselves in the very center of the
White Pass Scenic Byway (Highway 12). Hwy 12 is a veritable smorgasbord of brown recreation signs
where you can satisfy every activity appetite, every season of the year with fishing, boating, wind
surfing, swimming, skiing (cross country and downhill), snowboarding, snowmobiling, sledding, hiking,
horseback riding, kayaking, mountain bikes, birding and much, much more.
Are you interested in a Cascade mountain vacation rental? Our Washington wilderness
vacation rentals are just what you need. We are ideal for hunters that want the enjoyment of the
outdoors without the discomforts of "roughing it", and a pleasant place for their wives who might
prefer more casual activities including antique stores and a trip to the Butter Butte Coffee Company
where they roast their own beans.
The Mt. Rainier Wilderness areas: Goat Rocks, Tatoosh, and William O. Douglas are
accessed directly from the city of Packwood, WA, and you can explore numerous hiking trails with
varying degrees of difficulty.
Take an easy day trip to Windy Ridge, touted as the best view of the crater in
Mount Saint Helens, or a shorter drive to the Ohanapecosh visitor center at Mt. Rainier (7 miles
away). Once at Ohanapecosh, take the .4 mile hot springs hike or the longer Silver Fall hike of
1.2 miles (one way).
White Pass ski area is 18 miles east of our lodging and accessible year round.
The Cayuse and Chinook ski passes are also accessible, weather permitting.
For the more spiritually minded, this Packwood, WA vacation rental is a great
place to retreat for a time of solitude and reflection. It would take Herculean effort to keep
thoughts earthbound instead of soaring towards heaven like the eagles in exaltation over the hoary
topped mountain in all her grandeur.
